Day: Sunday 23rd January
I flipped a coin and decided to go to Aspen over Vail. Mainly cos it had cheaper accom & sounded a little friendlier. Booked a greyhound bus for 4pm and the closest thing to a hostel i'd seen.
Went to the bus station at around 12. luckily the superbowl playoffs were on TV.
My team the green bay packers (wisconsin) vs chicago bears. Wisconsin won!!! Was a good game & ate up the time before my bus.
Drive was good, scenic when it was light.
Got off at a place called Glenwood hot springs. It was still about an hour or two bus rides to aspen but i just caught public busses as the greyhounds didnt do that loop. Ended up talking to the bus drivers & sussing out more about the area. Very friendly people. The bus driver dropped me off practically at my accomodation since i didnt know where it was.
Hostel is nice, 3 beds per room. 1st night with a snorer though, thank god for noise cancelling headphones but even then i could still hear him.
Went to one of the only pubs still open with food & got some dinner & a guinness and talked to a few local guys around mikes age (25-26ish).
They gave me good low down on where the best boarding was in the area & gave me their number & a meeting point for tomorrow morning.
Shaping up for some epic boarding yeeeaaah!!!
