Wow! What a day!
Got up relatively early (11am) back to my normal sleeping pattern now lol.
Caught buses back to hollywood again. They're really not as bad as everyone makes out. They come regularly enough. I guess the design of the city of L.A is soo spread out it makes for longer travel times and people love to blow things out of proportion.
I booked myself onto one of the open-top tours. I smiled and spoke in an aussie accent and she gave me a discount too lol sweet.
The tour went in a loop around hollywood & Bel Air & Beverly Hills. The list of sights are below for those who give a shit about what i saw :
Chinese Theatre
guitar center (hand prints of famous rock stars)
chateau marmont (famous hotel)
comedy store
whisky a go go (famous pub which pushed acceptance of rock music & revealed various stars)
santa monica blvd
beverly hills/camden drive (rich ppl. nuff said. They even have a separate alleyway to put their rubbish in because it's unsightly on the main road)
Rodeo drive (rich ppl shopping. There was the most expensive suit for 15 thousand USD)
Four seasons hotel (elton johns fave spot)
Beverly shopping centre
Labrea tar pits/LACMA (fossils of dinosoars/museum/los angeles contemporary museum of art)
farmers market
melrose ave shopping (where all the hip hop kids are break dancing & shopping for pants that are too big for them)
pinks hot dogs (famous hot dogs that are rather yummy. i had one for dinner)
paramount studios (just the door)
So yeah, long tour. Finished it & pretty much figured out the buses home.
Saw a movie being filmed too today. Didn't see who it was, but a truck had a car on the back of it and a bunch of lights and cameras pointing inside the car with the actors inside. Next time i see a car scene in a movie i'll know they dont actually drive, and the surrounding scenery will be lower down than normal haha.
Arya's been busy with work the poor thing so she ordered a pizza in.
